MORE Isle of Wight Covid cases have been confirmed, the latest data has revealed.

Public Health England figures released today (Wednesday) show four new cases have been recorded.

This follows on from yesterday's eight, taking the Isle of Wight's total since the start of the pandemic to 6,755.

No new cases were recorded on Monday.

The Island's rolling rate, though five days behind, now stands at 12 per 100,000 people.

Yesterday, it was 13.4, and it remains well below the UK rate, which is 39.

Earlier today, we revisited the Government's interactive map, which once painted a very bleak picture of the Island.

The Isle of Wight appears to be heading in the right direction, and all but two areas are now classed as 'suppressed', meaning there have been fewer than three cases recorded in the seven days up to April 1 (Thursday).
