EMERGENCY service teams have been called to a crash in Ryde this afternoon (Wednesday) — after a motorcycle clipped a kerb.

Police, paramedics and one fire crew from Ryde have all been called to the scene near Quarr Hill, on Elenors Grove.

Motorists should avoid the area.

A spokesperson for the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service said: "One crew from Ryde was called at 3.12pm this afternoon to an RTC involving a motorcycle.

"The motorcycle clipped the kerb on Elenors Grove in Ryde, which led to a small engine oil spillage in the road.

"The male motorcyclist was conscious and breathing and treated at the scene by paramedics as firefighters worked to mop up the oil from the carriageway.

"The incident was handed over to police as the Ryde crew left the scene at 3.34pm."
