A MOTHER and son from the Lake accused of commercial scale drug dealing, appeared before Isle of Wight magistrates yesterday (Tuesday).

Benjamin Anthony Haxell, 20, and Joanne Haxell, 48, jointly faced charges of being concerned in the supply of cannabis, between September 27, 2019, and January 31, 2020.

Ms Haxell offered no plea to converting criminal property, it being £9,521 cash, into her bank account and transferring the sum into Mr Haxell's bank account, between January 2, 2019, and January 15, 2020.

Mr Haxell also faced charges of being concerned in the supply of ecstasy, heroin, LSD and ketamine, together with converting criminal property, by depositing cash into his bank account and purchasing crypto currency, fraudulent evasion under Customs and Excise legislation, and possession of an electrical weapon, namely a Taser, between January 2, 2019, and February 29, last year.

Both were bailed to reappear for a plea and trial management hearing at the Isle of Wight Crown Court on May 10.
