AN EIGHT-YEAR-OLD girl who struggles with periods of extreme anxiety and other conditions has completed a 26.2 mile walk to raise funds for the Isle of Wight Cats Protection.

Last week Charlotte, from Ryde, decided to try and complete a marathon, allowing herself a week to complete the challenge, and on Monday evening she had reached her target with two days to spare.

Charlotte, who attends Greenhaven — the specialist resource provision at Greenmount Primary School — struggles with periods of extreme anxiety, a feeding disorder and other linked conditions.

She has so far raised £940, smashing her initial target of £100.

Charlotte said she is proud of her achievement and shocked at the amount of support she has received from complete strangers through her JustGiving page.
