AN ISLE of Wight not-for-profit company is offering the local community free classes following a National Lottery grant.

Wight to be Happy Ltd has been awarded the funds to run a series of five online wellbeing courses aimed at boosting self-esteem, building confidence, build connection and providing exercises for good mental health and physical movement.

The courses are aimed at those feeling lonely or isolated, with the inaugural sessions, entitled Tools for Happiness commencing on April 29.

These will be part of an interactive course to help people adapt to changing situations with awareness, openness and focus and to enhance a sense of purpose and connection to self and others.

Other courses

The Stress Busting course begins on May 29 and is aimed at reducing stress and anxiety post Covid and to build resilience for the future.

Sleep Well starts on June 3 to reduce anxiety and promote healthy relaxation and deeper more relaxing sleep.

Yoga for Health and Vitality, starting on June 3, will teach mindful movement with the breath focused on building resilience in a changing environment.

Meditation to Quiet the Busy Mind starts on July 1 and will give participants skills to calm the mind, raise levels of awareness and understanding and to enable acceptance of change.
