Three new cases of coronavirus have been added to the Isle of Wight's total today (Thursday), bringing to 6,697, the number of Covid-19 positives on the Island since the start of the pandemic.

Yesterday (Wednesday) also saw three cases added to the total.

The Isle of Wight's rolling average rate had been rising in recent days, but has dropped slightly today.

In the seven days to March 13, there were 19.8 cases on the Isle of Wight, per 100,000 people, down from 21.2 yesterday — making it the 13th lowest rate in the UK.

The UK rate is currently 59.1 cases per 100,000 people.

Last week the number had been as low as 9 cases per 100,000 on the Island.

Although that is higher that recent days, the rate remains below average.
