STATEMENTS have been issued for three Isle of Wight schools which currently have students, with more than 100 students and teachers currently self-isolating.

A total of 104 people from the faculties are in isolation, comprised of 96 students and eight teachers.

The Isle of Wight Council provided an update on the situation of all three this afternoon (Monday).

 

Ryde Academy

Isle of Wight County Press:

An Isle of Wight Council spokesperson said: “A member of the Ryde Academy community has tested positive for Covid-19. Public health has offered advice and consequently three students need to self-isolate as a precautionary measure until 23 March.

“High-quality remote learning will be provided for the pupils throughout this time.”

 

Christ the King College

Isle of Wight County Press:

An Isle of Wight Council spokesperson said: “A member of the Christ the King College community has tested positive for Covid-19. Public health has offered advice and consequently 60 students and five members of staff need to self-isolate as a precautionary measure until 22 March.

“High-quality remote learning will be provided for the pupils throughout this time.”

 

Carisbrooke College

An Isle of Wight Council spokesperson said: “A member of the Carisbrooke College community has tested positive for Covid-19. Public health has offered advice and consequently 33 students and three members of staff need to self-isolate as a precautionary measure until 22 March.

“High-quality remote learning will be provided for the children throughout this time.”
