Seven more Islanders have died from coronavirus, in care homes and at home, according to the latest data.

Six people died in care homes and one person died at home, between January 29 and February 12.

Their deaths have just been officially recorded.

In all, 69 people have now died in Isle of Wight community settings (care homes, at home, in a hospice) in 2021.

Since the start of the pandemic, 121 Islanders have died in the community - with most of those deaths recorded by care homes.

Yesterday (Monday), the County Press reported a new hospital death, from figures that are published separately.

In hospital, 17 people have now died from Covid-19 so far in February, compared to 66 in the whole of January.

There have been 260 deaths from coronavirus on the Isle of Wight since the start of the pandemic.
