Your pets are amazing and we loved the tale of Graham Lee’s seven-year-old Border Collie, Zephyr, who was diagnosed at a young age with joint problems in three legs — so he took to wheels instead.

Graham, from Freshwater, said: "I used to take him out into the countryside in a bicycle trailer as he couldn't walk far. His joints improved through regular hydrotherapy and taking natural joint supplements so he can lead an almost normal life now running and playing without limping if he doesn't overdo it.

"He enjoyed going out cycling so I bought him a sidecar which was easier for him to get in and out of when he needs a break or wants to run alongside the bike on our island cycle paths. I've recently installed an electric motor so we can go much further than usual, he enjoys exploring new sights and smells.

"While out on walks he will stop and stand up on any object, including walls, benches and tree stumps, or he'll just sit among some flowers, he wont move until he has his photo taken! A 30-minute walk can turn into an hour with his constant posing..."

Also among this week's pet idols, who could resist the adorable Little Lucy (main image top), a 14-year-old Jack Russell x Chihuahua, who belongs to Holly-May Broadley-Darby of Ryde?

Holly said: "She was rescued very young and has lives with us ever since. Even though she’s 14 years old, she’s still a puppy at heart and loves playing ball!"

We also loved Janet Slinn’s three cats: Super Sirius, Lovely Loki and Marvellous Matty Catty.

Two of Janet Slinn's cats. Here Matty is completely unawares of Sirius's displeasure!

Janet, from Godshill, said 16-year-old tabby Marvellous Matty Catty was adopted from the Cats Protection in Ryde three years ago, while ginger Lovely Loki, who is eight, was also adopted from Cats Protetion two years ago.

Her other cat, Super Sirius, is 12 and she has had him since he was a ten-week-old kitten.

She said: "His name is because of our interest in astronomy - the brightest star in the night sky is called Sirius AKA the dog star!. He lived with us in France for one year, where he learnt to meow in French!"
