TODAY'S official data showing daily Covid cases is continuing a promising trend — with just four more cases confirmed on the Isle of Wight.
The latest data released by Public Health England also reveals the rolling rate, although five days behind, is now below 100 per 100,000 of population.
Today's four cases add to 13 confirmed yesterday (Thursday), 17 on Wednesday, three on Tuesday and eight on Monday.
The month's high of 57 was recorded a week ago on Friday, February 12.
The new cases take the county's total to 6,591 since the start of the pandemic, with February now recording 373 of those.
The rolling data of cases per 100,000 of population for the Island, though five days behind, has fallen to 96.6. It remains below the UK average of 128.1.
Deaths
The number of Covid related deaths on the Island increased in government data released on Tuesday. This showed 114 community deaths since the pandemic began, with 104 of those in care homes, seven at home, one in a hospice and two elsewhere.
With 138 hospital deaths also recorded, it means 252 people have died of Covid related causes on the Island since March, 2020, although no hospital deaths have been recorded this week.
