COVID cases have again increased with 14 newly confirmed cases and one more hospital death.

Today's positive coronavirus cases bring the Island's total to 6,534 since the pandemic began.

The one additional death reported today (Saturday) was at St Mary's Hospital, Newport.

According to the latest figures, one person was registered as having died with Covid yesterday (Friday).

Since the start of the pandemic, 137 have died at St Mary's with Covid-19.

Data announced separately shows 93 people have died in the Island's community (in care homes, the hospice, or at home) too — bringing the total dead to 230.

So far this month, 15 people have died of coronavirus.

The rolling average of cases has also increased, per 100,000 of population by which it is measured, from 117.1 to 122.7. This is five days behind, so doesn't include today's figure.

However, it is still below the national average of 177.2.
