TOOGETHER organisers are confident the festival can go ahead this year — even if it means having a rapid test centre installed in the event's car park.

The three-day multi-genre music festival is set to take place between July 30 and August 1 at Sandown Airport.

A spokesperson for the festival said: "For the last couple of months, we have been working with the main Covid test station providers on the Island.

"We now have all the risk assessments and method statements in place to provide you with a rapid test station in the event's car park if needed.

"We believe around 90 per cent of the adult population will be vaccinated by then, lowering the risk anyway.

"What will this mean? Well, if needed at that time, you will need to arrive at the event by car and be tested either in your vehicle or in the test centre.

"When tested, you will wait 15 minutes in your vehicle until you get your result. Only a negative test result will allow you access to the festival.

"Once you have your certificate of a negative test you will be able to get your wristband from the ticket office.

"This test will be valid for the whole weekend, whether camping or not. Tests will be charged locally in addition to your ticket.

"We will not profit from the tests, it is an entirely separate company.

"You can get a test elsewhere for free before the event as long as it is within 72 hours and proof must be shown of this test.

"Our plan will make the whole event a Covid-free zone and a safe environment for you all.

"If you happen to get a positive test result you will be refunded your full ticket fee, but I'm afraid the test cannot be refunded.

"I hope you are with us on this as it is the only way we can create a safe, proper festival for you all."
