FIVE more Covid related deaths have been confirmed at St Mary's Hospital today (Monday).

These are cases of people recorded as having died after testing positive for Covid-19.

One of the deaths was recorded on January 3, three on January 30 and another on January 31.

Another hospital death was confirmed yesterday (Sunday).

It brings the total amount of Covid patient deaths at the Isle of Wight hospital to 120, since the pandemic began.

In total on the Island there have been 179 Covid related deaths, with 54 in care homes, four in private homes, and one in a hospice.

The Island's Covid rate per 100,000 people is falling and is currently at 323.8. This remains above the national average.

There were 41 more confirmed Covid cases announced yesterday for the Isle of Wight, according to the daily data released by Public Health England, taking January's total to 4,539.
