Who remembers legendary Isle of Wight drummer Razzle?

He lived at Binstead and performed with the 1980s glam-rock band, Hanoi Rocks. But Razzle (real name, Nick Dingley) died tragically in 1984, aged just 24, while the band was on a tour of America.

He was in a car crash in which he was a passenger.

On his birthday last month, a small ornamental bottle of wine and a tin of beer was placed next to his grave in the churchyard at Holy Cross Church, Binstead.

He’s also mentioned in the latest Binstead History and Memories Facebook page, where he’s remembered fondly both as a performer and as a young boy.

He played with local bands the Thin Red Line and the Underdogs.
