Firefighters have been called to rescue rescue a horse stuck in a ditch in Nettlestone this afternoon (Monday).
At around 4.40pm, fire crews from Ryde and Newport were called to the scene near Pondwell Hill, between Nettlestone and Puckpool.
A spokesperson for the fire service said the 30-year-old horse was reported upside down in the ditch.
At 5.17pm, crews were making plans to rescue the animal and awaiting the arrival of a vet.
UPDATE 6.35pm:
A vet is now in attendance and the horse has been successfully freed from the ditch.
Firefighters remain in attendance.
