Shanklin and Sandown Golf Club is trying to shed light on an apparent fly tipping incident.

It has posted, on Facebook, shocking pictures of a large amount of waste.

The club says it appeared over the weekend, in an overflow car park, behind the clubhouse.

Shop signs and other paraphernalia were included.

Calling it 'unacceptable', the team that runs the golf course asked on social media, "Can anyone shed any light on this?"

Barry Guy, Club Chairman, said: "We think the rubbish was dumped sometime just before the weekend.

"We will always do our best to track down down anyone who thinks it's ok to dump items on our land.

"Fly-tipping is not acceptable and it needs to be stopped."
