A MEMBER of staff at Christ the King College in Newport has died a few weeks after testing positive for Covid.

Lynne Morgan, who worked as a Learning Support Assistant (LSA), passed away in the early hours of yesterday (Monday).

In a letter to parents, executive headteacher at Christ the King School, Matt Quinn, said: “It is with great sadness that I need to inform you of the death of a member of staff.

"Lynne Morgan who worked as an LSA passed away in the early hours of Monday morning.

“Sadly Lynne caught Covid early in December, and eventually succumbed to pneumonia.

"She had an underlying health condition which left her more vulnerable.

“All of us at Christ the King extend our deepest sympathy to Lynne’s family and friends.

"Because of the nature of our close school community, this tragedy will touch members of our school community in different ways.

"If parents need support at this time please use the school email address. A member of the senior team will get back in contact with you.

“As a Christian community, our thoughts and prayers remain with Lynne and her family at this particularly difficult time.”
