Football's Wessex League has been suspend until January 18.
The decision will then be reviewed, depending on any changes to Government and FA guidelines.
A short statement was released late yesterday (Monday), with more details to follow.
The league includes Isle of Wight teams Cowes Sports, East Cowes Vics and Newport.
Only East Cowes Vics saw their game go ahead on Saturday December 19. They lost at home to Verwood Town.
Newport's game at Romsey Town was postponed and Cowes Sports' clash with Bashley was abandoned.
East Cowes Vics has called the news 'disappointing,' but says it supports the move.
We know this is disappointing news especially with us being in tier 1 however as a club we fully stand by the leagues decision.
