After falling over, being graffitied and looking a little worse for wear, the Isle of Wight monolith has been put back in place on Compton Beach.
The structure was looking like its days were numbered earlier today, in images capture by Sarah Howell.
However, photographer Paul Blackley headed to Compton this afternoon and found the mirrored artwork was back on its plinth.
Someone had visited, given it a good clean and got rid of the graffiti, before standing it back up again....and Tom and his brother turned out to be the ones behind the clean up!
My brother and I went down earlier to see the monolith and found it upright again so we gave it some cleaning with a bit of window cleaner. Looking better now! #monolith pic.twitter.com/iH0BgGEJ4m
