A Christmas record, produced and recorded on the Isle of Wight, has been inspired by director Peter Jackson's colour WW1 film, 'They Shall Not Grow Old'.

Letter Home was written by Island-based Simon Whitworth - a member of G.I.Orange.

It was produced here, at Studio 5a.

It is the tale of an young unknown soldier, writing home to his family at Christmas.

As he reads it back to himself, the soldier struggles to hold back his tears.

Letter Home is performed by Benjamin Carpenter.

It is also being backed by The Nolans' manager, Marc Nixon, who has teamed up with Simon and Benjamin, in their bid for number one.

Since the 1980s, they have had five albums and have toured with David Essex and Bucks Fizz.

They even knocked Duran Duran's View to a Kill off the number one slot in Japan.
