A FORMER Southern Vectis bus depot on the Isle of Wight has a new destination in the run-up to Christmas.

The landmark location at 22 Pier Street, Ventnor, is among 131 lots being sold online by Clive Emson, the regional land and property auctioneers.

Rob Marchant, Clive Emson’s Isle of Wight auctioneer, said: “Empty for some years, the bus garage site now has planning consent to be demolished and replaced with an attractive scheme comprising two retail units and ten two-bedroom flats over three storeys.”

Guided at £480,000 to £520,000, the freehold location comes with planning consent which includes six car parking spaces.

Earlier this year, the County Press reported the site has been subject to multiple planning applications since 2007, with permission previously granted and withdrawn.

This latest successful planning application was by an Oxford-based developer, who sought to demolish all the buildings on the site of the former depot, once used by Southern Vectis.

Timers end on Wednesday, December 16, for Clive Emson’s December online auction, and several other lots of property and land on the Isle of Wight are also being auctioned.
