A LAKE Parish Councillor has reported a cliff fall in the village, where a section of metal railing appears to be hanging precariously over the revetment.

Cllr Adrian Whittaker says the path above the location of the landslide has been closed for some time, but has warned residents to be careful when walking in the area.

"Unfortunately, we have had another small landslide, this time in Lake just past the Littlestairs Road steps on the revetment," said Cllr Whittaker.

"I have met onsite with Island Roads, who have reported it to the Isle of Wight Council.

"We have two large planks of wood hanging over the revetment along with a metal railing.

"The cliff fall does not look to be recent but has just been noticed.

"Please be careful along this section between Littlestairs steps and the fourth lamp post toward Sandown."
