THE Floating Bridge, between Cowes and East Cowes, is once again out of service today (Friday, November 27).
The troubled chain ferry has already been out of action this month - when a hydraulic ram failed, forcing its suspension for a week.
Isle of Wight Council said today: "Unfortunately we have no option but to suspend the Cowes floating bridge service this morning (Friday) while engineers investigate an hydraulic oil leak.
"We have arranged for a replacement foot passenger launch to operate and will work closely with our contractors to resume the service as quickly as possible.
"We wish to apologise for any inconvenience caused."
