Police investigating an assault in Shanklin have arrested a 27-year-old man from Carisbrooke.

He has been released from custody, but remains under investigation on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

Officers were called to Regent Street, Shanklin, at around 6.15pm on November 4.

They are investigating an incident that also spread to Arthurs Hill and Avenue Road.

Hampshire Constabulary says its investigation continues.
