Medina College has warned parents of a new Covid case in its community.

It has informed those who need to isolate - and remains open for all others.

In a letter tonight (Thursday) it said: "We have been made aware of a member of our school community who has tested positive for Covid-19.

"We know that you may find this concerning but we are continuing to monitor the situation and are working closely with Public Health England.

"The small number of staff who have been in close contact with the individual who has tested positive for coronavirus have received a letter informing them that they must stay at home for 14 days.

"The school remains open."

Meanwhile the latest number of positive tests recorded on the Isle of Wight was released earlier - showing a rise.
