Whilst removing our sails on Saturday from our boat moored at Whitegates, next to UKSA we noted a lot of oil on the surface of the water coming past on the ebb tide.

This surely has to be from the leak or dysfunctional hydraulic system of the chain ferry doesn't it?

While allegedly the MCA put a stop to the last chain ferry, can the Environment Agency intervene and request that until such time as it can be reasonably guaranteed, the threat of more discharge of oil occurring in the Medina River is tackled and that the chain link is suspended indefinitely ?

There are thousands of yachts and motor boats that are moored in the Medina of varying ages, plus businesses, so the potential for an oil spill is high however the constant offender seems to be getting away with it.
