A MAN from the Isle of Wight has been charged with drink driving and other motoring offences following an incident in Bonchurch during the early hours of yesterday morning (Saturday).
A Volkswagen Touran ended up in the front garden of a house, causing damage to the property, in Trinity Road, at around 1.23am.
Robert Rowell, 22, of Rew Close, Ventnor, was arrested a short time later and has since been charged with drink driving, taking a motor vehicle without the owner's consent and using a motor vehicle without third party insurance.
He was released on bail and will appear before Island magistrates in Newport on January 5 next year.
