Plans for the first Covid-secure play in front of a live audience on the Isle of Wight, since the coronavirus lockdown, have now been cancelled.

Trinity Theatre in Cowes had hoped to show Recipe for Murder later this month (November), with just 50 tickets available.

However, in a statement today (Wednesday), the team said: "Unfortunately, following the government's recent announcement of a period of lockdown and circumstances beyond our control, we have had to cancel the production at this time.

"However, WE WILL BE BACK as soon as we are allowed!"
