A TRIAL date has now been set for a PTA chairman accused of defrauding the school he was involved with.

William Egan, 33, of Gordon Street, Gainsborough, Lincolnshire is charged with fraud by false representation.

Mr Egan is accused of having used his position as chairman of St Helens Primary School PTA to appropriate funds of £8,722.

The charge applies to dates between January 2018 and June 2018.

He appeared via video link at the Isle of Wight Crown Court today (Thursday), where he was granted unconditional bail.

His case was adjourned for a trial on January 25.
