ISLAND-BORN singer-songwriter, Lewis Shepperd, has launched a kickstarter campaign to help raise funds for his new music video.

Lewis, 26, announced the imminent release of his new single — This Blood is Yours — upon hitting 300 youtube subscribers.

The song, and accompanying music video, is set to release on October 31, as a spooky Halloween treat for fans.

Mastered by Pete Maher, who has worked on songs by artist such as The Killers, Katy Perry, Jake White and The Rolling Stones, Lewis says his new project is a far-cry from his previous work.

He says he's completely altered his sound and image — his new track the culmination of three-years experience fronting one of the Island's most popular function bands, The Rockafellas.

"Since lockdown, it’s been extremely difficult as a musician," said Lewis.

"Usually, I perform at weddings, events and pubs throughout the year, but the restrictions have completely scuppered any and all scheduled gigs.

"I started the Kickstarter fund for the single, initially, to help cover the cost of props I needed for the music video.

"The goal was set at £100, which would have just about covered the props, let alone the merchandise, promotion, filming, editing, recording, mixing, mastering, artwork and distribution.

"I reached that goal in 15 days, and I'm super grateful to the people who have helped out and supported me."

Would-be donators can pledge and receive goodies, such as merchandise, the single itself, written lyrics, a personal thank you video and even some of the props.

Anyone who pledges will also receive a support credit at the end of the video.

"I want everyone who likes my music to feel as involved in process as I can make possible," said Lewis.

"I've already released a trailer for the music video, and I've launched a Photoshop competition in which you can win some This Blood Is Yours merchandise, with a bonus Greg Barnes T-shirt and EP.
