Police were called to the Bartin Road area after a child was found wandering the streets.
AN 86-year-old man has been arrested as part of an investigation into a report of a sexual assault.
Police say the incident is alleged to have taken place at a residential address in Cowes yesterday (Sunday).
Investigations are ongoing and officers are in the area conducting enquiries.
The man has been released on bail until November 15.
As part of the police enquiries, two benches were cordoned off at the junction of Crossfield Avenue and Ward Avenue on Sunday.
