CHILDREN got creative with cardboard at Lanesend Primary School.

The Cowes school held its annual Cardboard Challenge Day, around the magical theme A Whole New World.

There was a school-wide competition for the children to come up with their own design, and each class voted to nominate their favourite, which were then put to a whole school vote to decide the winner.

There were so many good ones, they merged them into a giant art installation.

Among the winners was Claudia Summers, who came up with the concept of different new worlds behind different doors.

Everyone also liked Alfie Hough's city scene, Poppy Gadsby's fantasy scene and Penny Grove's underwater kingdom.

A school spokesperson said: "The commitment the children have shown towards this very special project was inspiring."
