POLICE have charged a man following a series of thefts in Newport town centre.
Daniel Kilshaw, 39, of Quay Street, Newport, has been charged with seven thefts from shops in the town, and possession of a knife/bladed article in a public place.
He will next appear at the Isle of Wight Magistrates' Court.
A police spokesperson said: "We were very busy yesterday dealing with numerous issues in Newport town centre."
