THE total number of Isle of Wight cases of coronavirus has risen by one, to 458.

According to the latest government data, the latest case was confirmed earlier this month and has been added to the overall tally today (Monday).

No hospital deaths have been recorded due to Covid-19 since September 1.

The Isle of Wight Council is reminding Islanders to follow the #handsfacespace message: Wash hands thoroughly, wear mask where required, and follow social distancing rules.

Anyone with symptoms (a persistent cough, temperature, or change to smell/taste) should request a test, by calling 119 or by visiting the government's website.

Official figures show the UK has recorded 13 new Covid-19 related deaths, with the total now at 42,001, and 4,044 new cases today, with the total number now standing at 439,013.
