THERE were fireworks when 1st Godshill Cubs met for the first time since the Covid lockdown began.

Following the newly set out 'Covid code', Cubs and leaders visited Newport Fire Station to complete the second half of the fire safety badge they started before the pandemic.

Later in the day, the group learned how to use sparklers safely and write their name in the sky, were shown techniques to safely light, manage and put out a campfire, toasted their own marshmallows and drank fresh hot chocolate.
