THE 'king of waltz', Andre Rieu, is coming to UK cinemas this month — including Cineworld in Newport.

Every summer, André Rieu presents a series of open-air concerts in his hometown of Maastricht, in the Netherlands.

With large concerts cancelled due to social distancing restrictions, Andre will instead be bringing Maastricht to the fans in a one-off throwback cinema spectacular.

This Autumn, you can enjoy Andre Rieu’s Magical Maastricht – Together In Music from the comfort of your local cinema.

It will screen at Cineworld, Newport, on Saturday, September 19 at 7pm, Sunday, September 20 at 2pm, and on Thursday, September 24, at 7pm.

Hosted by Good Morning Britain’s Charlotte Hawkins, Andre will recount his favourite memories from Maastricht in an exclusive interview filmed in the city’s famous Vrijthof Square.

He will also take the occasion to reflect on his own personal experience in isolation, and what it means for him as a father and grandfather.

"Even if we cannot celebrate together live this year, we should still celebrate," said the world-renowned violinist.

"Therefore, I am very happy and proud to share our greatest Maastricht moments with you this summer in cinemas all around the world."

Andre has sold more than 40 million records worldwide and 700,000 tickets each year, and was dubbed ‘the maestro of the masses’ by the New York Times.
