AN ISLE of Wight musician, who has featured on BBC Radio 2, is among those on the bill for Strings' first post-lockdown gig.

Singer-songwriter Swan Levitt combines acoustic folk with modern themes.

He will be releasing his new single, Someday Soon, to coincide with the event.

The evening will be an intimate seated show, say organisers.

Covid-19 social distancing guidelines will be in place, in line with the government's latest announcement.

Support will be provided by ODDA, who last month won the Platform One College of Music songwriting initiative, receiving a professional recording session with a producer at Platform One’s Studio One in Newport.

Swan said: "It was beautiful to see so many venues and festivals hosting live streams over lockdown, but nothing quite beats seeing music in person.

"Strings has done an incredible job making live music possible again. Safety is paramount, but luckily my music actually benefits this type of intimate atmosphere — the audience at a solo gig can really connect with the artist on stage.

"It's been a strange time for musicians and music fans alike, so it's great to return to some kind of normal. I hope everyone who attends the show will have a phenomenal evening, I know I will."

Tickets are available to purchase by clicking HERE and the event begins at 7.30pm on Friday, September 18.
