WHEN Isle of Wight comic book author Russell Sheath released his first edition, it became the biggest selling book sold by Heroes comic shop in Newport and outsold Batman, X-Men and The Walking Dead.

Now, he is launching his second.

He is holding a signing at the shop at Scarrots Lane on Saturday, from 12 noon to 4pm.

His first book was written for the iconic Commando series and was set on the Isle of Wight.

Russell said: "With help from the County Press, that comic became the biggest selling comic ever for Heroes, which was amazing for my first ever comic, and illustrated local interest and support for local creators such as myself.

"My next comic for Commando is called Daggers Drawn and is set in the Highlands of Scotland, featuring the Royal Marines on exercise, taking on gun runners.

"It is out on Thursday, September 3, and I will be signing copies, with safe social distancing precautions in place, at Heroes on Saturday."

There will be signed comics, limited edition prints and scripts to buy, and the chance to ask Russell some questions.
