AN ISLE of Wight couple have opened a shop that will bring ethical products to the heart of Newport.

Natalie and Russell Mew, the brains behind the new Essentially Wight shop in Watchbell Lane, will be selling a range of eco-friendly candles, melts, diffusers and cutlery sets.

Russell said: "We had always loved candles and reed diffusers; the way fragrances can spark up memories long forgotten and different scents can relax or invigorate you.

We are not eco-warriors...

...but want to do our bit for the wonderful planet we live on. We would like to thank everyone who has supported us in achieving our dream."

The couple started selling products in Ventnor store Everything’s All Wight in June 2019 under the name Carisbrooke Candles.

Immediately surprised by the success and demand for their products, they decided to extend the range.

Both Natalie and Russell have worked as registered NHS nurses for more than 20 years, and this will be their first shop based business venture.
