IT IS good to have so many visitors to the Island for business and hoteliers but many Islanders are concerned for their own safety from coronavirus.

With all the visitors coming to the Island and possibly bringing the virus with them what happens to us?

The IW authorities don't seem to be concerned for our safety or we would have virus checks at Portsmouth, Southampton and Lymington...airport style.

The IW is not a large island but has many elderly retired people and if we had a sudden surge of the virus it would be disastrous and we could lose many lives.

We would not have the facilities nor the manpower and one could question the availability of the floating bridge at Cowes as an emergency route to St Mary's Hospital.
