A VEGAN jazz cafe in Newport will be hosting an outdoor jazz event to celebrate the Isle of Wight's female vocal talent next month.

Django's 100 per cent plant-based tapas restaurant is based in Staplehurst Grange, the home of the old lavender farm, with the event taking place in the courtyard from 6pm on Saturday, September 5.

Poppy Dumbrell, who co-founded the venue alongside partner and head chef Aidan Gant, is a jazz and soul singer with ties to the UK music industry.

The evening of jazz and blues aims to celebrate some of the Island's fantastic female singers, and will be punctuated by the presence of other local musicians.

Tickets for the event cost £20 (plus a booking fee) and can be purchased through Eventbrite or via Facebook by clicking HERE.

There will be a small number of tables placed around the courtyard which can be secured on a first come, first served basis.

Coronavirus restrictions mean no hot food will be available, but guests are invited to bring their own picnic. Cake, ice cream and bar snacks will be available to purchase on site.

As an outdoor event, Django's has stated that if the weather is being particularly disagreeable the date may be changed nearer to the time.
