Wightlink is reporting delays of an hour and 45 minutes on its Portsmouth to Fishbourne route today (Sunday).
The cross-Solent operator is blaming a technical issue.
It has apologised for the problems - and for changes to passengers' travel plans.
Wightlink says its phone booking system is down, meanwhile.
The Lymington-Yarmouth route is unaffected.
Knock-on affects
Southern Vectis says its bus routes are affected by long tailbacks between Quarr and Wootton.
Technical issues on Wightlink ferries & delays of over 60mins is causing traffic to tailback to Fishbourne. Severe congestion in Wootton & Quarr Abbey is causing delays to buses reaching Ryde & Newport. This may cause further delays to other routes from these bus stations
