TWO Isle of Wight businesses have received TripAdvisor accolades for their outstanding service in 2019.

Nettlecombe Farm in Whitwell and the Beach Hut in Bembridge were recognised in this year's Travellers' Choice Awards.

Based on a full year of Tripadvisor reviews, prior to any changes caused by the pandemic, award winners are known for consistently receiving great traveller/diner feedback, placing them in the top 10% of hospitality businesses around the globe.

A spokesperson for the Beach Hut, said: "We are proud to have won an award for a sixth consecutive year. This is very rare and puts us in the top 10% of UK restaurants.

"Given we only reopened 17 July, we are very grateful to receive this accolade. We've been trading for nine years and during this time many other businesses have come and gone.

"We've lost our house in a fire and had a surprise baby, Olivia, now aged five. We named our bar Olivia's Bar in her honour. Despite the rocky path, myself and my husband Jon have managed to keep going."
