CONCERN that a man had fallen from a boat led to Independent Lifeboat and Isle of Wight Coastguard teams visiting Ryde Pier this evening (Tuesday).

Coastguard teams from Bembridge and Ventnor were called alongside the Ryde Inshore Rescue and Gosport lifeboat, after services received multiple reports of a man in the water.

The casualty had fallen from a white RIB to the Eastern side of the pier and was not wearing a lifejacket.

He was recovered back onto his vessel by a passing jet-skier before the Coastguard arrived on the scene.

The man was later met by Gosport Lifeboat and Ryde Rescue, who assisted the vessel back to Ryde Marina.
