HEAVY traffic is again being reported on Isle of Wight roads today (Tuesday).

Significant delays were reported for the area around roadworks at St Mary's Junction, and temporary traffic lights in Lake.

Southern Vectis warned of delays on Route1, from Newport to Cowes and back, because of roadworks at St Mary's, with buses approaching St Mary's Hospital and Newport in general experiencing delays of approximately 15mins due to heavy traffic.

The Cowes to East Cowes floating bridge remains out of action, with no date for it coming back into service, affecting the Cowes to Newport route.

The bus operator also warned of delays on Routes 2, 3 and 8, which go through and around the Lake area.

It said: "Temporary traffic lights in Lake are causing significant build up of traffic in this area and buses are currently running approx 20 minutes behind time as a result."
