The Isle of Wight has been listed among the top fifteen staycation locations, according to a website.

The list compares locations for overcrowding, available green space, child-friendly eateries and campsites, and temperatures.

Cornwall takes the number one spot and the Lake District, Scottish Highlands and Devon rank in the top five.

Poundtoy.com covers the UK’s top 50 holiday spots, according to its research.

Those behind the list said: “We ranked each destination based on six factors and gave each a normalised score out of 100 on each factor.

“We then calculated a weighted average score across all six factors, with 50% weighting for the population numbers and 10% for each of the other factors, due to the need to maintain social distancing.”
