Coastguard rescue teams were called to Hanover Point overnight, off the Isle of Wight's Military Road, after a person fell 20 metres.
Teams from The Needles and Bembridge were called out - alongside the Thames Valley Air Ambulance, just after 11pm.
A 999 call raised the alarm.
The person was brought to the cliff top, by the coastguard teams and the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service.
