POLICE are appealing to the public for information after a number of power tools were stolen from an Isle of Wight home.

A spokesperson for Isle of Wight Police said: "We are investigating a burglary that took place mid-July, whereby an extensive amount of power tools ­— largely from the Dewalt range ­— were stolen during a house renovation.

"If you have recently bought, or are thinking of buying power tools soon, be aware that you could be buying stolen goods.

"We have been informed that the stolen tools are marked with the letters 'L.T'.

"If you have already purchased tools that you believe may match this description, please get in touch via 101 or online with details of where, when, who and how you purchased these items."
