THE Isle of Wight’s hotels and B&Bs are set firmly among the best in the country — and Europe — according to a recent poll by leading online holiday company TripAdvisor, announced this week.

Shanklin leads the way, with all of the businesses featured in the Traveller’s Choice Best of the Best Awards for the UK and Channel Islands, based in the picturesque seaside town.

The Rowborough Hotel, owned by Michelle Tarrant and Caroline Reze, features as second best value hotel and seventh best small hotel in the UK and ranks 11th as best value hotel in Europe.

Meanwhile, Haven Hall Hotel has secured the number seven spot in the luxury hotel category and 11th for small hotel.

Owner David Barrett said: "We are very pleased to feature as one of the best luxury hotels. After a four-year, multi-million pound renovation, it is gratifying for so many of our guests to have written such positive reviews on TripAdvisor.

"We’re pleased to add it to our growing list of awards, as Conde Nast Johansen shortlisted Haven Hall as the best small and exclusive hotel in the UK in 2019."

Warren Pynegar and Peter Hodges are the owners at Grange Bank House. This is just their fourth year in Shanklin, with the accommodation now ranking in the top 20 best value hotels in the UK and Channel Islands.

Hayley and Nick Clark took over The Chestnuts four years ago and are now ranked 12th in the Best Value Hotels list in the UK and Channel Islands.

"This is a reflection of the high standard our members offer while dealing with this unprecedented and difficult year."
