An historic spitfire will fly over the Isle of Wight this afternoon - to pay tribute to the NHS.

It will pass over St Mary’s Hospital in Newport at around 3.10pm today (Saturday).

Look up, and you'll see Thank You written under its wings.

Send us a picture! If you spot it, we'd love to see a picture. Message use on Facebook or Twitter, email editor@iwcp.co.uk or tag us on Instagram.

Known as the NHS Spitfire, it is touring the country to say thank you to frontline medical teams.

The tour is the brainchild of the Aircraft Restoration Company and it has a JustGiving page, which has already raised more than £19,000 for NHS Charities Together.

Organisers said: "The aim is to lift the spirits of those across the UK, many of whom are still living in some form of isolation, whilst also thanking the hospitals, communities and individuals who have been at the forefront of getting the country through the pandemic."
